Placerville Speedway set for huge end to the season starting with World of Outlaws and Championship
Placerville, CA – September 10, 2018…After weeks of anticipation one of the biggest stretches of the season at Placerville Speedway is ready to commence, beginning with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series this Wednesday, followed by the Red Hawk Casino championship finale on Saturday. The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series sanctioned “49er Gold Rush Classic” presented by Riebes NAPA Auto Parts this Wednesday September 12 will showcase a 49-lap feature that pays $20,000-to-win and $1,000-to-start. After a strong outing at Silver Dollar Speedway last weekend the California locals will look to continue it on the tight confines of Placerville Speedway, during what is the richest Winged 410 Sprint Car event in California.
Foothill Area Rapid Transit will also provide a free shuttle for Wednesday’s race. Free parking is available at Red Hawk Casino and then keep an eye out for the "Short Bus." Pick-up is near the Casino Valet. Ticket sales and will call begins at 3pm, with the front gate opening at 4. Live entertainment during Happy Hour from 4-6 will be provided by Johnny Cash Tribute Band the Cash Prophets. Hot laps begin at 6:30, with qualifying and racing to follow.
On Tuesday September 11 there will be a hauler parade through historic Placerville at 5:30pm that ends at the fairgrounds. Once at the fairgrounds there will be a kick-off party/ celebration in honor of Brad Sweet recently winning the 58th Knoxville Nationals. A concert featuring Tim Dugger will be held at 7pm with Tri-Tip sandwiches and beer for sale. The concert will cost $5, with kids 12 and under free. Camping is available at the fairgrounds.

This Saturday September 15 will then be the Red Hawk Casino championship finale, which doubles as “Ladies Night” at Placerville Speedway. All ladies receive admission for $10 during the night. In action will be Winged 360 Sprint Cars, Pure Stocks, Mini Trucks and Dwarf Cars. Auburn’s Andy Forsberg sits atop the Thompson’s Auto Group Winged 360 Sprint Car standings, while veteran Scott Grunert leads the Pure Stocks into the 2018-point finale.
Adult tickets for this Saturday September 15 will cost $15, while seniors 62 plus, military and juniors 12-17 will be $13, children 6-11 are $6, kids five and under are free! The pit gate will open at 2pm, with the front grandstand gate opening at 3pm on Saturday. A happy hour will be offered from 4pm-6pm in the grandstands featuring discounted Coors Light and Coors Original at the beer stand. Drivers meeting will be held at 4:30pm, with cars on track for wheel packing at 5. Hot laps, qualifying and racing will follow.
