Set to enter year 11 under the Russell Motorsports Inc. banner, the El Dorado County Fairgrounds based Placerville Speedway has released its schedule of events for the 2026 season. Since opening in 1965, the Placerville Speedway has been a favorite among fans throughout Northern California. Placerville Speedway is pleased to announce that tonight’s much anticipated Hangtown 100 is set to take place. As noted last night, the start time has been moved up to beat the possible threat of rain. The grandstands will open at 1pm. The pit meeting will be held at 1:15pm with cars on track at 2pm. Hot laps, qualifying and racing to follow. After losing opening night, the Hangtown 100 transitions to a one-day program featuring the USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Champ

With the ongoing forecast continuing to change and more rain expected today, the decision has been made to cancel tonight’s Hangtown 100 opener at Placerville Speedway. The Saturday finale is still on as scheduled; however, speedway officials are aware what the forecast and radar look like. The USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midgets and BCRA Lightning Sprints are primed to take on Placerville Speedway this Friday and Saturday for the annual running of the Hangtown 100. Placerville Speedway is aware of the current forecast but is fully pushing forward with the event. If Friday happens to rain out, refunds will be initiated to ticket holders.
