Placerville, CA – March 19, 2018…Following this Wednesday’s World of Outlaws event an action-packed start to the season at Placerville Speedway continues with the Red Hawk Casino championship season set to launch this Saturday March 24.
The evening is also billed as “Student Night” with $5 tickets available to those who show their student ID at the speedway box office on Saturday. It makes for a perfect night to introduce the younger generation to the dirt track world. Make sure to bring your friends and take advantage of the special offer. Divisions set to tackle the red clay on Saturday will include the Thompson’s Auto Group Winged 360 Sprint Cars, Ltd. Late Models, Pure Stocks and Dwarf Cars.
“It’s certainly a busy way to open the season at Placerville Speedway, but we hope all the fans and teams are excited,” commented third-year promoter Scott Russell. “We are coming off a solid year at the track and have worked hard in the off-season to make sure 2018 is even better. Introducing these special themed nights throughout the year is something we’re excited about and are interested in seeing how they work. We encourage all the students out there to bring their friends and come on Saturdayfor $5 tickets with their ID.”
The big week will officially open on Tuesday March 20 with a special season kick-off party at Beef N Brew located in Diamond Springs. The event will run from 5:30pm to 7:30pm and features drivers on hand for autographs/ meet and greet. Weather permitting race cars will also be on display.
Adult tickets this Saturday will cost $15, while seniors 62 plus and juniors 12-15 will be $13, children 6-11 are $6, five and under are free! The pit gate will open at 2pm, with the front grandstand gate opening at 3pm. A happy hour will be offered from 4pm-6pm in the grandstands featuring discounted Coors Light and Coors Original at the beer stand. Drivers meeting will be held at 4:30pm, with cars on track for wheel packing at 5pm, ADCO Driveline and Custom Exhaust qualifying scheduled to begin around 5:30pm and heat races expected to fire-off around 6:30pm.
