Bryan Carnett Memorial Coming to Placerville Speedway September 16

Placerville Speedway set to host the 2nd Annual Bryan Carnett Memorial on September 16 Limited Late Model and Pure Stock divisions to see increased payout in honor of the late Bryan Carnett.

PLACERVILLE, CA--(August 31, 2017) – Russell Motorsports Inc. managed Placerville Speedway is excited to announce that it will host the 2nd annual Bryan Carnett Memorial Race on Saturday September 16 to honor the decade of dedication that Carnett spent contributing to the success of the quarter-mile bullring.

The Limited Late Model and Pure Stock divisions will feature an increased payout for the event, with extra funds being split between the two classes and divided up amongst the top three drivers in the A-main. This payout is in addition to the existing prize money for the feature event.

“Placerville Speedway has always been our home track and I am thrilled that Scott Russell was willing to host the Bryan Carnett Memorial Race for the second year. I am hoping we can build upon the success of last year and have another exciting night of racing, which is the best way to remember the competitive spirit of my dad. I am very grateful to Placerville Speedway, all of our friends at the track, and my family who all worked to make this night a reality,” said Forryst Carnett racecar driver and son of the late Bryan Carnett.

Bryan Carnett was a true fan of the stock car divisions at Placerville Speedway, racing and sponsoring both Pure Stocks and Limited Late Models throughout the decade he spent at the track. Late Model stock cars are the premier stock car class raced at local and regional tracks in the United States. These purpose-built racecars weigh around 2,400 pounds and utilize both factory-designed crate and custom-built racing engines. The Pure Stock class is viewed as “true" stock car racing, consisting of only street vehicles that can be bought by general public with minor modifications made to the engine and suspension.

The Bryan Carnett Memorial will also be championship night for the Red Hawk Casino weekly point season. Champions will be crowned in both the Ltd. Late Model and Pure Stock divisions, along with the Thompson’s Auto Group Winged 360 Sprint Cars. The NCDCA Dwarf Cars and Vintage Hard Tops will round out the card.

Adult tickets on Saturday September 16 will cost $15, while seniors 62 plus and juniors 12-15 will be $13, children 6-11 are $6, five and under are free! The pit gate will open at 2pm, with the front grandstand gate opening at 3pm. A happy hour will be offered from 4pm-6pmin the grandstands featuring discounted Coors Light and Coors Original at the beer stand.

Drivers meeting will be held at 4:30pm, with cars on track for wheel packing at 5pm, ADCO Driveline and Custom Exhaust qualifying scheduled to begin around 5:30pm and heat races expected to fire-off around 6:30pm.
