Annual Mountain Democrat Kids Bike Night on tap at Placerville Speedway this Saturday July 8
Placerville, CA - July 6, 2017...Mountain Democrat Kids Bike Night is this Saturday at Placerville Speedway!
Divisions ready to tackle the quarter-mile for Red Hawk Casino point race number nine include the Thompson’s Auto Group Winged 360 Sprint Cars, Ltd. Late Models, Pure Stocks and BCRA Midget Lites. The Pure Stocks this Saturday will see each A-main car earn an extra $100, which also boosts the winners share to $600!
Kids 11 and under are admitted free to the races and during intermission have the chance to race their bikes on the familiar red clay. Those 11 and under also receive a free popcorn, soda and will get a raffle ticket upon entry for a chance at winning a new bike. A total of five bikes will be given away with one of them graciously donated by Lightfoot Automotive.
"This is always a great night for the kids and all the families to come out and enjoy an evening of racing at Placerville Speedway," said RMI President Scott Russell. "Kids Bike Night has been one of the long standing events here and we're happy to allow those 11 and under free to the races. The younger generation is the future of our sport, so we hope to see a lot of little ones in Placerville on Saturday."
Adult tickets at Mountain Democrat Kids Bike Night this Saturday July 8 will cost $15, while seniors 62 plus and juniors 12-15 will be $13, as noted children 11 and under are free! The pit gate will open at 2pm, with the front grandstand gate opening at 3pm.
Drivers meeting will be held at 4:30pm, with cars on track for wheel packing at 5pm, qualifying scheduled to begin around 5:30pm and heat races expected to fire-off around 6:30pm.
This Saturday's event continues the busy month of July that saw a pair of events already take place in the past week. The bullring will host Red Hawk Casino point races each of the next three weekends, before getting ready for another action-packed month in August that includes the Tribute to Al Hinds, the Mark Forni Classic and the final Elk Grove Ford Sprint Car Challenge Tour presented Abreu Vineyards appearance of the season.
