Thompson's Fan Appreciation Day This Saturday at Placerville Speedway
Thompson’s Auto Group Fan Appreciation Day highlights sixth Red Hawk Casino point race this Saturday at Placerville Speedway - Pit party from noon-4pm and discount tickets offered
Placerville, CA – After opening the month of June last week Placerville Speedway returns to action this Saturday for the annual Thompson’s Auto Group Fan Appreciation Day, which also doubles as Red Hawk Casino championship point race number six.
Prior to the races this Saturday June 10 a special pit party will be held at the track from noon to 4pm, where there will be music, cars on display and drivers available for autographs. It’s always a perfect opportunity to bring out the kids to meet their favorite drivers and get an up close look at the cars that will be competing later in the night.
Divisions set to tackle the speedway at the sixth Red Hawk Casino point race will include the Thompson’s Auto Group Winged 360 Sprint Cars, Ltd. Late Models, Pure Stocks, Mini Trucks and the NCDCA Dwarf Cars.
All grandstand admission tickets this Saturday will also be just $10 each for Adults, Seniors, Military & Juniors. Kids (6-11) will be $6 each and 5 & Under are FREE! The front gate will open at 3pm. Drivers meeting will be held at 4:30pm, with cars on track for wheel packing at 5, qualifying scheduled to begin around 5:30 and heat races to follow.
A happy hour will be offered from 4pm-6pm in the grandstands featuring discounted Coors Light and Coors Original at the beer stand. If there was ever a week to bring a friend and introduce them to the races this would surely be the one.
“The whole team at Thompson’s Auto Group are great partners with us here at Placerville Speedway and have been for a long time,” said Russell Motorsports Inc. President Scott Russell. “Fan appreciation day is always a fun time for all the spectators and the racers as well. We invite everyone to come and enjoy a great day at the pit party, before attending the races that night. This is also your last chance to catch racing here until Fourth of July weekend, so we hope everyone can make it out.”
Elk Grove’s Greg Decaires continues to lead the way in the Thompson’s Auto Group 360 Sprint Car standings, but last week it was reigning champion Mason Moore who picked up his first victory of the season. The driver of the Friends & Family Racing X1 started from the pole and led all 25-laps en route to the win. Decaires finished the race in third and will look to get back in victory lane this Saturday aboard the Dale Miller Plumbing No. 4sa. The four-time titlist already has two triumphs to his credit in 2017.
More drivers expected on Saturday will include current runner up in the standings Jimmy Trulli, five-time Placerville Speedway track champ Andy Forsberg, last week’s runner up Matt Petersen, round one winner Justyn Cox, along with Sean Becker, Steven Tiner, Jake Morgan, DJ and Dustin Freitas, Mike Benson, Cody Fendley, Justin Johnson, Chris Masters, Mike Cook, Kirt Organ and others.
