Kings Meats Burger Night marks penultimate point race Saturday

The month of August continues at Placerville Speedway with one of the popular events each season, as Russell Motorsports Inc. presents a stacked program during Kings Meats Half-Priced Burger Night this Saturday August 15^th.

The evening of family entertainment and grass roots racing offers burgers and cheeseburgers Half-Priced at the Speedway Café! Hirst Home Team Happy Hour showcases live music and discounted Coors Light/ Coors Banquet Beer from 4-6pm.

All four main event winners on Saturday will receive a Meat Box courtesy of Kings Meats that is full of steaks, sausages, chops and more! As a treat for the fans, the first 100 Kings Meats Fresh Angus Beef Cheeseburgers are on us.

Anyone who visits the Kings Meats Store this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will also be entered into a raffle for a pair of free pit passes to the August 22nd High Limit Racing Gold Rush Classic. No purchase is necessary.

A four-division “Thunder in the Foothills” championship program presented by Berco Building Materials/ Hoosier Tires/ Coors Light will include the Thompson’s Family of Dealerships Winged 360 Sprint Cars, Kings Meats Ltd. Late Models, Red Hawk Resort + Casino Pure Stocks and BCRA Lightning Sprints.

With just two events remaining for the Thompson’s Family of Dealerships Winged 360 Sprint Cars, it continues to be Justyn Cox leading the way. The 2023 SCCT champion is coming off another solid night that saw him lead laps and finish runner up aboard the Josh Bates Racing No. 42x.

Yuba City’s Rod Oliver and Oakley’s Nick Baldwin sit atop the Kings Meats Ltd. Late Model and Red Hawk Casino Pure Stock standings respectively. Both drivers won last week, with Oliver claiming his second of the year and Baldwin getting number eight on the season.

Elk Grove’s Matt Land brings the BCRA Lightning Sprint point lead into Placerville on Saturday. Land is nine points up on Livermore’s Greg Dennett, as the series makes its penultimate stop of the season on the red clay.

Grandstand seating during Kings Meats Burger Night will be General Admission this Saturday August 15th, apart from the reserved seats allocated to season ticket holders that are marked.

Adult tickets cost just $18, while seniors 62+, military and juniors 12-17 will be $16. Kids 6-11 cost $8 and those five and under are free. Tickets can be purchased at the gate or online via https://www.eventsprout.com/event/psr-081526 

The pit gate will open at noon, with the front gate opening at 4pm. Cars hit the track at 5:15pm with hot laps, ADCO Driveline Qualifying and racing to follow. Hirst Home Team Happy Hour is offered from 4-6pm in the grandstands featuring live music and discounted Coors Light/ Coors Banquet Beer at the Cold Zone.
