How Sweet It Is
Brad Sweet was coming back home to Northern California for a quick weekend get-away from his Indiana residence and to recharge his batteries for the upcoming USAC non-wing sprint week. He was also scheduled to drive the Rod Tiner #83 Shark Racing Engines winged sprint car for two nights of racing at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico. Sweet entered the weekend with two career sprint car wins at Chico. Both of them came in a 360 sprint car when he won both nights of a two day show.

Gregg Holds off Allard for Exciting Win at Chico
Placerville driver Andy Gregg scored his first career 410 sprint car main event victory Friday night at Silver Dollar Speedway. Gregg held off a charging Jonathan Allard to get the win. As good as the 410 winged main event finish was the wingless main event was better. Marc Zieske led the main event as the white flag waived. However, he would not be the first car to the checkered. Going into the final lap Bloom Jr. passed Zieske going through turns one and two. Bloom Jr. then drove deep into turn three and beat Zieske to the finish line. Steve Hammett won an exciting street stock main event.

What a Night at Chico
It was a refreshing Friday night of racing at Silver Dollar Speedway. Three divisions entertained the crowd with close racing and action packed thrills. The fans were also treated to various give aways courtesy of Skyway Tool Center and Angie's Poker Club both in Chico. The racing on the speedway was exciting to say the least. Keith Bloom Jr. won the wingless main event. Mike Sohnrey won the Diamond Truss Co. Dirt Modified tour main event. The biggest fan participation of the night belonged to driver Heather Bartlett. Bartlett won the 20-lap street stock main event in front of over 150 special family members and friends on hand to root her on.

Forsberg Wins Wild Finish at Chico
It was a Friday night showdown at Silver Dollar Speedway during the 25-lap sprint car main event. It came down to two drivers going for the same piece of real estate. Coming out of turn four there was Andy Forsberg, the leader, and Tim Kaeding, charging around the top of the race track in second. Neither wanted to lose. As the two came out of turn four, Kaeding had caught Forsberg and the wheels were banging and sparks were a flying. Forsberg crossed the line first while Kaeding finished second.
