PLACERVILLE, CA – The crowds have been impressive as well as impressed by the amazing action at Placerville Speedway thus far in the 2014 Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort Championship Racing season. As week four hits at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds, such will certainly be the case again as five divisions converge at the quarter mile clay over, three of which will bring the banner of totally topless action to the marquee.

This Saturday night, the Joe Hunt Magnetos Wingless Sprint Car Series will make their first visit of the season here along with the Bay Cities Racing Association that will bring both the traditional Midgets and the Midget Lites to the program as they race wingless in honor of fallen car owner and longtime BCRA supporter Wayne Abright who passed away in February. The event is being bannered at the Wayne Albright Memorial and an impressive number of BCRA entrants are expected to attend in honor of the beloved racer.

Joining the three visiting divisions will be two of Placerville’s regular divisions as they return to the battle for the 2014 Jackson Rancheria Casino track championship. The well expanded Limited Late Model Division will be competing in their third points race of the season along with the Pure Stocks that are always known for their great door to door racing each action all week long. 04_05_2014_369

After his victory two weeks ago, Ray Trimble of Auburn leads the point standings in the Limited Late Model division. Former champion Matt Micheli of Live Oak is trailing in second place by just two digits while defending track champion Tom Tilford of Citrus Heights is 5 points behind the leader. Opening night winner Ryan McDaniel of Olivehurst is fourth over Orangevale’s Marek Bernert who rounds out the top five.

In the Pure Stock Division, recent winner Scott Grunert of Woodland is the early point leader with seven point lead over Tim Mack of Diamond Springs. Chris Van Roekel of Grass Valley is third followed by Jason Leonard of Elk Grove and Rick Grunert of Woodland.

Placerville Speedway’s 2014 championship season is sponsored by the new Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort who invites the racing community to their newly remodeled 257,000 square foot entertainment facility just south of El Dorado County. Additional sponsorship provided by Hoosier Tires, Coors Light, The Mountain Democrat, Riebes Auto Parts, ADCO Driveline, the Paint Spot and more.
