CHICO, CA (8-31-07) - The 1992 NHRA Nitro Funny Car Champion Cruz
Pedregon and Speed TV's Sean Buckley are this year's Grand Marshall's at
the famous Gold Cup Bikini Contest and Chili Feed. Pedregon is currently
13th in points during the NHRA Championship Drag Racing Funny Car
division. He ranks in the top five of all-time on the NHRA professional
wins. The “Cruzer”, as he is known by, also campaigns a successful
Toyota midget team with talented drivers like Josh Wise behind the
wheel. In 2001, Pedregon served as color analyst for ESPN’s drag racing

be Sean Buckley. Buckley is the pit side reporter for the ESPN and Speed
TV coverage of the World of Outlaws broadcasts. Buckley is also one of
the Internet's most popular sprint car ambassadors with his hugely
popular Jack Slash racing website. Buckley has never attended a Gold Cup
but has heard plenty about it. “Man I am so pumped to be coming to my
first Gold Cup,” said Buckley from his home in Indiana. “You hear so
much about the racing and festivities that I almost have felt a part of
it for years even though this will be my first trip in person.”

Kevin Sharrah of Chico is supplying all the bikini contestants with
his clothing line “Tainted” tee-shirts and tank tops. He is also sending
all the girls on stage with free “tainted” t-shirts for the girls to
throw into the crowd. Sharrah plans to have around 30 free tee shirts to

Obviously the main attraction is John Padjen's world famous chili for
dinner. The Chili Feed and Bikini Contest take place on Friday night,
September 7th inside the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds Pavilion. The Chili
Feed starts directly following the end of racing on Friday night. The
bikini contest starts about 45 minutes after the races are over.
Tickets for the Chili Feed and Bikini Contest can be bought at the
track's Novelty Booth located on the back side of the main grandstand or
at the event.
