PLACERVILLE, CA (7-26-12) - The most competitive season of Joe Hunt Magnetos Wingless Sprint Shootout Series continues this Saturday night back at Alan Handy's Placerville Speedway. The series has produced five different main event winners in five races. The previous race at Placerville on June 23rd produced 26 entries and in the end Matt Streeter was the winner. The same great car count is expected this Saturday.

Championship point leader Terry Schank Jr. is still searching for his first main event win of the 2012 season during the Hunt Series. Schank holds a 34-point over Biggs, CA driver Cody Smith. Smith is in the same dilemma as Schank. He has produced consistent finishes but is searching for his first main event win. Smith finished in the fifth position at Placerville while Schank was eighth. Both championship drivers are looking to improve on those finishes. Even though Schank is winless during the Joe Hunt Series, Schank is coming off another main event win at a local Silver Dollar Speedway wingless show.

Opening round winner Scott Hall of Rio Linda is holding down the third spot. Hall is definitely looking to improve on his last place finish in the feature at the previous Placerville event. Silver Dollar Speedway wingless point leader Rowdy McClenon is in the fourth spot. As with Hall, McClenon has a main event win at Silver Dollar Speedway. Roseville driver Angelique Bell rounds out the top five. Of the top five drivers, Bell had the worse finish at Placerville when she finished 10th in the B main event.

Chico's Travis Moore is currently sixth in the point's standings. Moore has a three point advantage over Napa's Joe Stornetta. Petaluma round number two winner Geoff Ensign is in the eighth spot. David Sprigg and Brett Youngman complete the top ten in points.

After this Saturday nights race at Placerville, the series will take a month hiatus. The next race will take place September 8 at Petaluma Speedway. The final race of the year will find the series back at Marysville on September 22.

For a full point's summary, results and schedule please follow the Joe Hunt Magnetos Wingless Sprint Shootout Series through FACEBOOK.

The series will pay out a $3,000 point fund distributed throughout the top ten in the final point's standings. There will be a $500 bonus to drivers inside the top three in the final point standings using Joe Hunt Magnetos or their products.
