PLACERVILLE, CA (5-30-12) - After a week off for the Memorial Day Holiday, Placerville Speedway roars back into action this Saturday night with the sixth championship point race of the Fast and Furious Dirt Track Racing Season presented by Red Hawk Casino, Hoosier Tires West and Coors Light. The event will feature four divisions of racing including winged 260 sprint cars, the Bay Cities Racing Association midgets, the Nor Cal Dwarf Cars and the Pure Stock division.

As they share the spotlight with the mighty BCRA Midgets this week, look for the winged sprint car division to continue its heated battle for the 2012 season championship. After driving his way to victory lane two weeks ago, defending track champion Andy Forsberg of Auburn now leads the series point standings entering Saturday's event.

Forsberg currently sits three points ahead of Greg DeCaires of Elk Grove. A one time winner this season, DeCaires currently holds off the challenges of Cameron Park's Steven Allard in third place. Allard is 23 points out of the lead and sitting ahead of Placerville's Jimmy Trulli who sits fourth overall. Nicole Miller of Elk Grove rounds out the top five.

In the Pure Stock division, the battle for the championship is just as heated as Matt Tilford of Orangevale continues to hold the point lead. Tilford is undefeated this season with five wins and 16-point advantage over former track champion Chris Curtiss of Placerville.

Folsom's Dominic Stone is third in the point standings, 24-points out of the lead. Scott Grunert of Woodland is fourth, 25-points from the top. Placerville's Danielle Clauson rounds out the top five in the Pure Stock division, 44-points from the lead.

The two track regulars will be joined on Saturday by the Midgets of the Bay Cities Racing Association. The BCRA is slated to bring a full field of entrants that was still being confirmed at press time. Completing the program will be the always exciting Nor Cal Dwarf Cars as they make their return to the high banks of Placerville.

Adult tickets are $13 for Saturday and available at the track box office. Seniors and Juniors are $11 while Children are $6. Those five and under will be admitted free.
