The Hired Guns to perform for Tribute to Al Hinds Car Show and BBQ

SHINGLE SPRINGS, CA (7-27-10) - This Saturday afternoon the racing community reaches out to the communities of El Dorado County with the annual Tribute to Al Hinds Race Fan BBQ and Car Show at Family Auto Star in Shingle Springs. This year the event is shaping up to be bigger and better than ever with nearly 20 winged sprint cars on display, free food for fans and race teams and live music featuring one of the area's most recognized female vocalists.
For the past several years, Shauna Lea of Shingle Springs has been performing in various venues throughout El Dorado, Sacramento and Placer Counties. She has performed the the National Anthem in numerous stadiums including Placerville Speedway. Saturday afternoon, race fans can enjoy the talents of Lea and the popular band in which she is the lead female vocalist for, the Hired Guns, at the annual Tribute to Al Hinds Race Fan BBQ and Car Show at Family Auto Star in Shingle Springs. The Hired Guns is one of the newest and hottest country cover bands in Northern California. The group is based in Sacramento and is compromised of professional musicians that have performed at a number of high profile events in Sacramento and El Dorado Counties. The group has performed during the weekly concert series at El Dorado Hills Town Center and recently performed their during their inaugural July Fourth Fireworks Celebration. On Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., some 20 sprint car teams will be on display at Family Auto Center at 4050 Motherlode Drive in Shingle Springs for the Tribute to Al Hinds Sprint Car Show and BBQ. Family Auto Center is the sponsor of Saturday's Civil War Race at Placerville Speedway which pays $3000 to the winner, courtesy of a $1000 bonus from the longtime auto dealer. In addition to the live music, Saturday's affair will feature free burgers, hot dogs and refreshments sponsored by Handy Racing Promotions and Family Auto Center. Fuzion Filmz will host bench racing throughout the afternoon with video highlights of the past events at Placerville Speedway and Windfall Classifieds, one of Placerville Speedway's Media Partners, will be on hand with a booth featuring contests to win various prizes. Throughout the afternoon, the Hired Guns will present complimentary tickets to winners of various contests throughout the day. Nearly 200 tickets are scheduled to be awarded throughout the afternoon. Following the all day activities, race teams will convoy up highway 5o to Placerville Speedway for the ninth round of the Civil War Sprint Car Series.
