PLACERVILLE, CA (7-20-10) - The 2010 Red Hawk Casino Championship Season resumes at Placerville Speedway this Saturday night with a diverse foursome of divisions on the quarter mile clay oval at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds in Placerville.

This Saturday night the Hunt Magnetos Wingless Shootout Series will return to the speedway along with the Dirt Solutions Limited Late Models, Pure Stocks. Dirt Modifieds have also been added to the race program presented by Hoosier Tires, Coors Light, Pepsi Cola and Riebes Auto Parts.

Saturday night marks the first time in several years the Dirt Modifieds have raced on the clay at Placerville Speedway. With the exception of a handful of special series events sporadically through the last decade, the last time the division raced at Placerville Speedway regularly was back in 1995 when the division was a weekly championship venue.

Saturday's cameo appearance for the division will pay $800 to win. Drivers are expected to compete at Placerville Speedway who normally compete in the weekly series in Antioch as they are off for the week. Several regular drivers that compete at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico are also expected.

Saturday's night of racing will also feature the exciting Hunt Magnetos Wingless Sprint Car Series as they return to the action packed bullring track. This division competes at three different California tracks four different times during the year in a 12-race series that pays $1000 to the winner in each event and a championship bonus at the conclusion of the series.

Saturday's race is the second night of a big double header of racing for the Hunt Shootout campaign. They also compete on Friday night at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, an event that is a make-up race for a previously rained out event at the North State track.

Entering the weekend, Terry Schank Jr. of Santa Rosa continues to lead the point standings in the Wingless Shootout Championship Series. Schank is currently seven points ahead of Grass Valley's Billy Wallace and Chico's Taylor Simas who are tied for third in the standings. Timmy Sherman Jr. of Citrus Heights is fourth in the point standings over Lincoln's Scott Hall. Hall is 59-points our of the lead rounding out the top five.

The Joe Hunt Magnetos Wingless Sprint Car Series is one of the most exciting guest divisions to compete at Placerville Speedway. The division brings the speed and excitement of open wheel sprint car racing to the quarter-mile bullring with the added thrills of a division that requires a great deal of skill and effort by each and every driver to maintain control of these intense machines which compete without the added stability of a top wing.

Joining the evening race program will be the Dirt Solutions Limited Late Model Division. In this class, 2008 track champion Dan Brown Jr. of Grass Valley leads the division point standings. Brown holds a 25-point margin over 2009 Rookie of the Year Jay Norton of Shingle Springs. Recent three time winner Matt Davis of Auburn's third in the standings followed by Doug Grandboise of Jackson and Thomas Arbogast of Auburn.

In the Pure Stock division, series point leader Chris Curtiss of Placerville continues to increase his lead in the standings. Curtiss now sits 32-points ahead of Nevada City's Michele McClure. Dennis Armstrong of El Dorado is third, 35-points out of the lead. Eddie Gardner of Sacramento. Danielle Clauson of Placerville rounds out the top five, 55-points out of the lead.

The grandstands at Placerville Speedway are expected to fill quickly this Saturday for the Gates will open at 5 p.m. Adult tickets will be $12, juniors and seniors $10, children $5 and under six will be admitted for free.

Placerville Speedway is operated by Handy Racing Promotions Incorporated and is located on the El Dorado County Fairgrounds. The quarter-mile dirt track has been home to auto racing and affordable family entertainment since the summer of 1965. For further information visit www.placervillespeedway.com.
