PLACERVILLE, CA (4-19-10) - This Saturday night will mark the second round of competition for the Red Hawk Casino Championship season at Placerville Speedway. The event will feature four exciting divisions in the event presented by Hoosier Tires- Pepsi Cola and Riebes Auto Parts and all day festivities at a local business near the speedway.

Saturday night is "Carl's Jr." night at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds. The well known burger chain is in its second year of teaming with Placerville Speedway's community contingency sponsor program and on this night Handy Racing Promotions are pleased to recognize them for their support. Not only has this night been dedicated to Carl's Jr., their location near the speedway is hosting a large race car show and shine during the day from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

While Saturday's event will allow race fans of all ages to meet most of the competitors in the Nor Cal Dwarf Car division and a number of Placerville's regular contenders from the sprint car and stock car divisions, it will also benefit a good cause. As the NCDA returns to Placerville this week they are racing to raise awareness to finding a cure to Crohns Disease.

When it comes to the Nor Cal Dwarf Cars, Frank and Janis Munroe are well known in the sport. It was the husband and wife team that built the traveling series to what it is today and they are still very active within the organization, promoting their series as well as fabricating race cars.

Kady Munroe, the couple's daughter, suffers from Crohns Disease. Kady has started a valiant campaign to raise awareness for this incurable condition and is entered in the upcoming Take Steps Walk on May 1 at the State Capitol. On Saturday night the Nor-Cal Dwarf Car Association is coming to together to raise awareness about this disease and to raise funds to support Kady's team in the upcoming walk.

Crohns Disease is an incurable autoimmune disorder that affects the intestinal tract. The Crohns Colitis Foundation of America is the leader in finding a cure this disease. Saturday's car show will be somewhat of a preview of the support the Nor Cal Dwarfs are showing Kady. During the actual walk on May 1 the division has been invited to the State Capitol to have their cars on display during the actual walk that will feature inspirational speakers, food and live music. Kady has been selected as the Honored Hero for the Sacramento walk for her hard work in fighting this disease which she has suffered from over the last four years.

During the large car show on Saturday, Kady will be on hand with a table featuring media materials with information regarding Crohns Disease. The group will be holding raffles throughout the day at the car show for various door prizes that have been donated in an effort to raise funds to assist Kady and her campaign.

"Kady is our 19 year old champion," said Janis. "the NCDA has been very active in supporting Kady and CCFA. Not only are they doing this event before the race, they are also donating a portion of their winnings from the night of racing."

For additional information on Crohns Disease, please visit www.ccfa.org. Kady has also created her own website in her personal fight to find a cure at www.crohns-core.com.

On Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. look for 15 or more of the Nor Cal Dwarf Cars and their drivers to be on hand at Carl's Jr. on Fairlane. In addition to the traveling division a select group of Placerville Speedway's top drivers are also expected to be on hand including James Sweeney of Placerville, Dennis Armstrong of El Dorado, Jerry and Heather Bartlett, Sean Becker of Antelope and even more.

The front gates will open at Placerville Speedway at 5 p.m. on Saturday night.
