PLACERVILLE, CA (11-18-09) - In an effort to continue our strong community outreach within the county that we support and greatly supports our sport, a group is being assembled to create a Placerville Speedway entry in the 2009 Christmas Parade in Placerville on Sunday, December 6th. In the 32 year history of this annual event, this will mark the first time that the racing community will be represented with a float and several race cars following it.

We are currently seeking members of the racing community that would like to offer their assistance with this public relations project in the way of participation and resources If you are able to assist with this project in anyway please contact Bill Sullivan, Director of Communications for Handy Racing Promotions Inc. by email at bsullivan@placervillespeedway.com.

"This is prime opportunity to show our true colors in a community that truly supports us," said Bill Sullivan of Handy Racing Promotions. "At the same time, there are many residents that still haven't sent a local race car up close and this is an excellent way to get the attention of many future fans. We're looking to bring as many teams to the street that we can and get in the holiday spirit."

We look forward to your participation in this event that benefits Toys for Tots and at the same time provides an opportunity to reach out to the families of Placerville and the surrounding communities that have supported our sport for 45 years.

As of Tuesday, November 16 we have had a number of commitments from teams. Drivers that have commited to bringing their suited up bodies and cars include champions Tom Tilford and Jerry Bartlett Sprint car driver C.J. Humphreys has stepped up as well with more expected. Our deadline for our number of participants in nearing so please, show your support and join us…this is good for the support and excellent publicity for your sponsors and potential sponsors.
